晨批閱文件。報載巴基斯坦以＂Azad＂ Kashmir 政府名義任坎巨堤王爲 Gilgit 行政區之 Governor（或可稱行政長官，似較妥），此人卽要求歸附中國者，今已完全歸巴，亦地勢與宗敎關係使然也。故坎巨堤問題，至此已告一段落。當電外交部報吿，並吿以新印督謝蔣先生賀電之覆電已到館。下午七時半赴 Shiva Rao 夫人約，參預其鷄尾酒會，Shiva Rao 之弟 Sir Rama Rau 新任駐美大使，七月中旬前將赴任，此會係介紹彼而設，與新任內次阿陽嘉談甚久。九時赴加拿大高級專員 John Kearney之餐會，爲美大使 Grady夫人餞行，餐時談印局及國際局勢，至一時方囘館。付糜租金。
