八月八日　 星期五 　熱，不雨，自來水又燙。處理文件甚多，將吳俊才所譯 Freedom in Fear 中文稿改正，寫家信， 並寫翁詠霓信。電外交部報告巴基斯坦來函要求交換大使及美大使昨晚見吿美方應付此問題辦法。 　 下午八時半至 Constitutional Club，應 Shiva Rao 約，出席餞別 Mrs. Naidu 晚餐會。交 Shiva Rao 代 message 之詩稿，尼赫魯索閱，彼連讀兩遍，恭維備至，並與其談印尼問題，因余今日有一信致彼 ，吿以中國在安全理事會仍令中國代表投援助印尼票也。飯後 Mrs. Naidu 演講，余亦講約十分鐘。
