十一月五日　 星期一 　 上午赴Institute of Civil Engineers開會，上午演說完畢，卽開分組委員會，余參加第三委員 會討論 Executive Board 與 Secretariat 兩問題；擧比國代表爲本委員會主席，係前定。 　 中午在大世界聚餐。 　 Willkinson 上午報告 Gilbert Murray 在樓梯上跌一交，病重。 　 下午三時仍開會，我發言主張爲⑴注重新起科學家不可讓老輩把持；⑵予小國以多點參加機會； ⑶代表以國家，不以個人爲單位。 　 晚遷至 Claridge's Hotel 第四四四號。 　 晚赴王景春宴於上海樓。 　 取得眼鏡二付，五磅八先令，目光痛苦解決。
